So, Friday I get a call from my dad. Grandad's been in the hospital since Wednesday. He's 95 and hasn't been able to shake this bout of pneumonia (he gets it about four times a year). Incoherent. So Dad and his wife are flying up, but there's no need for me to go since I'm not close to them. His summary, not mine. So he called yesterday and said

It's just frustrating because I'm rarely, if ever, included in family things. I'm told to just not worry about. Kinda like when that rep told you to put your dad on the phone, because he's a *man*. That kinda thing. *sigh*

It's okay. I was expecting it, so it wasn't a total surprise, but the hurt from my dad? You'd think I'd be expecting that...apparently not so much.
