Well, "biopsy" sort of has "might be cancer" written in there.... but still! I remember when a doc. told me I probably had a brain tumor. It was AWFUL. The next doc.? "Epilepsy, I'm sure!"
This will be the second biopsy. The first one was of the lump on her temple and now this one of the lump on her cheek. With the first biopsy, it was basically dismissed as cancer (as in, "oh, I'm sure it's not") and now it's being put on the table as a very real possibility.
Yeah, I've had professionals tell me that something slightly wrong could be cancer (it wasn't, there was no basis for it, they shouldn't have used such fearmongering).
I hope your mama is ok. I'll be thinking non-cancer thoughts at her.
I'm so sorry she (and you) have to go through that, esp when it is unknown. Hopefully it is nothing. *hugs* and good wishes. I think maybe they were justifying why a second painful procedure was necessary and were afraid she wouldn't do it if they didn't invoke the C word?

Neither. NEITHER. Inner ear infection. Gah.

I'm *guessing* that your mom's MD mentioned it because he has to explain why a biopsy is necessary.

Or, maybe, I'm just freaking out unnecessarily?
(thank you for popping in)
