Felix wasn't happy. He, his parents, and Kyle had been kidnapped to the frozen wastes at the far north of Weyard and locked in a small house for weeks on end. In such cramped circumstances, there was no real way to get away from each other or to distract themselves from their new situation. Even if the door hadn't been locked, it was bitterly cold outside and none of them really wanted to freeze.

Saturos opened the door and came in. "Felix. Come with me."

Felix hurried to grab one of the coats the Proxians had found for their prisoners. Apparently their hosts didn't need much warm clothing, but sometimes they would collect things from the bodies of southerners who weren't as prepared for the north as they thought.

Once dressed and out the door, Felix had to hurry to keep up with Saturos. The older man took long, even strides to what Felix assumed was the Mayor's house. Certainly it was the biggest building in Prox. They went inside.

In the house was a small group of Proxian men, led by a tall man with red hair and a stooped old man, both with distinctly green skin. "Felix," said the older one, "We would like to propose a deal."

"What sort of deal?" asked Felix nervously.

The tall man spoke this time. "It's really quite simple. Saturos will train you in the arts of sword and Psynergy. You will help him to complete the task, the quest if you will, with which he is charged. When it is completed, you and the others will be returned to Vale."

Felix wrinkled his forehead. "What... sort of task?"

"Why, the restoration of Alchemy," answered the old man.

Felix spun around with a loud "NO!", pushed past the startled Saturos, and stormed out the door.
