She plays acoustic guitar, and the flute and the harp

I was woken up this morning - at 5:21am, I might add - by a mysterious tapping noise. About three loudish clicks, of no particular origin. Followed by a quiet wail. Then silence. Bemused, I went back to sleep ( Read more... )

Weird.

I have a mystery noise in the flat above me. It starts about 1am, every night, and it sounds like a small child running up and down the hallway. I've given it a lot of thought - it doesn't sound like an adult, and it doesn't sound like a dog. But why on earth would a small child start running around at 1am every night?

Based on my experience, I'd say something that runs madly up and down the hall at 1am is probably a cat.

Definitely not a cat. Fat too stompy, and the rhythm is all wrong (and too variable).

My parents maintain that the cat they had when I was a baby could stamp. I am too young to remember said cat, so I can't vouch for it personally.

It scared me shitless the first time my phone lit up at night like that after charging. It was several long seconds before I realised what it was.

No idea if mine does it repeatedly - now I don't take any chances, and always put the phone face down...
