Pretentious, Moi? - take one bloke who (in my opinion ;) is not particularly good-looking, pop him on stage with a mic, and... watch him become one of the most attractive people in the room

Becky's brother1!

--
[1] - an inside reference I am honour bound to reproduce whenever Tim is encountered. For literally years on the Sheffield goth scene, Becky was known to people only as "Tim's sister" due to his being slightly older and fairly well known (he was also in Autumn of North, Sins of the Flesh, and maybe even served for a while in Manuskript IIRC). Finally some of us rebelled and dubbed him "Becky's brother" to redress the balance.

maybe even
He's known to many as "Tim, from Manuskript", so it's a pretty safe bet. [grin]

We usually drive back down the A1 - partly to avoid the roadworks on the M1, and partly because of the OK Diner, a fine place to purchase a truly filling American-style repast.

Also, I must agree with most of your band reviews - the previous time I saw Vendemmian, they did at least have an (ostensibly) human bass player.

Ooh, ooh, where's the OK Diner ? I'm not familiar with its work...

I can't remember, exactly - a bit South of Grantham, I vaguely recall, where you get all of the Harriers flying low passes on a regular basis.

OK Diner website

There's, apparently, a band of seven of them across the middle of England. Or possibly a belt, probably with a big Elvis buckle. And there's also one up in Hartlepool.

I can recommend the milk shakes. And the burgers. And the desserts. [grin]

There is one near here, too, in N. Wales. Sadly it's not really on the way to anywhere I usually go to, but it's worth the occasional trip anyway.

The A1 now its lost most of its roundabouts is really rather quick, except for the odd lorry passing one and other. The 50mph limit is only for a couple of miles so doesn't last long.

BTW i did see you a few times but always seemed in a rush so never really got to talk. *boo*

S'ok, I wasn't affronted :) Talking was impossible in Laughtons, anyway - "Hello! What? With who? Can't hear you!"

hair/Vendemmian> I quite agree :-)

Occasionally Vendemmian had enough lyrics to fill a song but they made up for those songs by not using enough notes.

Not so much still going as going again, I think. I read somewhere that various members had decided "there was still more of the Vendemmian story to be told" - I think this translates as them being out of money and other options!
