Era's - beginning and ending

They gave me a nametag at work today. Since I seem to be sticking around, the vet said. It's all very cool. I'm doing actual nursing; running bloods, giving advice, irrigating intestines (!!!), developing x-rays, clipping and scrubbing animals for surgery, monitoring them, waking them up and the like ( Read more... )

work; north rocks, computer, money, life

Your new vet gig sounds awesome! Here's hoping it can become something more permanent.

I told him about my 2014 plan (becoming a qualified nurse and getting longservice leave) and that, provided they didn't think I'm a nob, I'd be very happy to hang around longterm, which he seemed pleased with.

I'm damn lucky and I know it right now!

Of course your monitor isn't really "square" either. But it's more square I guess.

Why against rectangular monitors?

I think - and this sounds either really lame or like I've put far too much thought into it, which I have - that it has a lot to do with my (lack of) peripheral vision and general eyesight quality.

Rectangle monitors make me feel like I'm being surrounded by the page (never good for work sites - PRH pic sites? Maybe.) and I have a hard time with the font sizes and things like that. I've also found it nigh on impossible to get the brightness and contrast right on one, but I do freely admit to not having spent copious amounts of time trying to figure one out.

Plus. It's hip to be a square. No one sings shit about rectangles. That's a winning argument right there.

I got given a square flat screen monitor from my parents in law when my old CRT monitor decided that everything had to have a purple haze. I dealt with it for a few months but it was actually quite painful to use after a while (I got headaches from it and I was very unhappy with that), but they were awesome and gave me this monitor. I love it because it's square and has a white frame. (My old work one was rectangular and silver and it was ok but everyone sort of has a monitor like that so yeah... :D)

Yaay with the work thing! :D

As much as I love purple, I don't think I could handle a permanant haze on the screen. That was one of the things to finally make me upgrade my first beloved 4GB computer of doom whcih, I asuure you, was cutting edge at the time lol

Of course, I also remember the floppy disks as big as my head ;)
