I liked this. It was almost bittersweet, but not. I think because Astoria didn't feel sorry for herself at all. She understands the world she lives in and is very practical about making the best for herself in it. I like that she's logical enough to see that the future might hold good things for her even though everything's being arranged.

It's sad for Harry though. He really does try to understand. He's a good man.

Well done, Miss L.

I think in a perfect world (or at least, in Harry's hope), Astoria would have said "Eff it all" and defied her family for her lover. But the thing is, that's the stuff from romantic comedies -- and those almost never happen. Astoria here is a realist, and she's open minded enough to know that while Harry is probably thinking it won't work out, she thinks there's a chance it might.

*pats Harry* He'll find someone. I can has the faith.

Thanks, hun! I'm glad you liked it -- and the title, too. :D

Great take on these two. I love how Astoria stays strong in her own way, despite being ruled by her family and Draco. It's like she's still determined to make the best of her situation. I also like your Harry, he seems very in character here.

Thank you! Astoria, while a young woman with hopes and dreams, is also a realist -- she knows that marrying Draco could be a good thing, and I think she's determined to try and make it work. I don't think Harry can understand the arranged marriage thing; it's almost antiquated by today's standards, but those were the standards Astoria was raised in.

I'm glad you liked it! :D

Aww, this was lovely. I've always wanted to read Harry/Astoria but I don't think I ever have before, so this was a real treat. Astoria is perfectly Slytherin, doing what she needs to get on in the world and making the best of a bad situation. And Harry, I think you've got him spot on. The mention of Astoria marrying Draco was lovely too :D

Thank you so much for writing this for me! :)

Oh, I'm really glad you liked it! Once I started going, this one really just flowed. Astoria's a realist, and while she wouldn't choose marrying Draco, that's the way it is and she's open enough to know that it could be a good thing. Harry doesn't understand, but he tries to -- it really isn't his fault, though.

Thanks for leaving a great prompt! :D
