This is really powerful and sad.

Oh Snape. My heart hurts for him because he really is a decent person who's bad choices got him into really dark place, and even though he knows he's doing the right thing now, he has to watch things like this happen and be reminded every day of his mistakes.

Very, very poignant. I love this piece's tie-in with the movie; I can see that scene in my mind, but having Severus' thoughts on it really gives it more.

Snape really did have the hardest time of any of them. He was never able to live his life as the person he really was. It was always lies and deception, and in the end, I don't think he ever found really happiness. *sadface*

Thanks! That scene was really sad, and when I saw the prompt, I was like, "MINE!!"

Snape makes me sad. He made his choices, yes, but none of them seemed to really make him happy. I think he thought that by saving Harry, he could atone, but even atonement didn't help. :(
