Now I feel sorry for office tranny. It seems like he/she should be able to wear whatever he/she wants. It isn't like OT is wearing stuff that shows off private areas, is it?
And, yeah, it would be interesting to be a fly on the wall during that HR intervention.
Ya know, I don't know what they can or can't say. I talked to my boss about it at lunch today and she said they can probably say certain things. Most likely the guy's boss or another employee complained and they needed to do something.
Do you happen to watch Boston Legal? Because either this past week or the week earlier, there was a case about some other office's transvestite, and how s/he got fired after demanding maternity leave. Then, at the end, the employer offered to rehire "Clarice" as long as "she'd" stop using the ladies' bathroom (because as soon as the boss admitted the real reason they fired her - making everyone else uncomfortable - there was grounds for a lawsuit.) Wonder what HR could have said to make your fella all of a sudden start dressing like a man again? Do they have any right to demand anything?

Yeah, I think if they put stipulations on what they said, dude would have grounds for suing.
Though, I'm sure HR talked to Legal before doing anything. At least I hope they did.
But the poor guy looks so sad now that he can't dress to the nines everyday :( Aww.
