Author's Notes 2: Post Grave Danger. I always wished that we could have seen a little more of Nick's rescue and recovery. The hints I've seen so far in S6 (Gum Drops, mainly) have been good but I would have liked a bit more. Although I'm well aware that anything along these lines would never have actually made the screen.
The Salt of Her Tears
The nightmares had come again. His own screams had woken him from these nightmares more than once but tonight he had been trapped in the dark. But Sara was with him and she woke him, held him close, murmured soft words in the half-light. Nick held on to Sara desperately, wanting to feel her warm body against his own. He had buried his head against her shoulder as he wept but now he lifted his head and caught her mouth in a deep kiss. She kissed him back just as fiercely and he could taste the salt of her tears.
