Happy Birthdays to All

My best friend's birthday was yesterday (he is three months younger than I am, a fact he seldom allows me to forget - B has reminded me that I seldom allowed him to forget I was three months OLDER when we were teenagers) and his son's birthday is today, so we celebrated last night by going out for New Mexican - this is a little different than Tex- ( Read more... )

So, indulge my curiousity - you and B went to high school together, right? Did he come out at the same time you did, or not until after the ex-wife and kidlet came along?

OMG it's even funnier than that ... it was our senior year, actually, carrying over to freshmen in (different) colleges. We attended a special Geeks Summer Program where we met, and were Just Friends for many months.

I had a female friend at that time who said "I have something disturbing I have to tell you about myself ... (long long pause) ... I'm bisexual"

To which I said, "yes but what's the disturbing news?"

The exact same month, B came to my school for a weekend visit and told me about a trip he'd taken to Amsterdam, where he learned (I kid you not) "something disturbing about myself that I have to tell you."

Again, my reply was, "yes, but what's the disturbing news?"

Our First Kiss was quite geeky and scientific, with much HMMMM-ing and rating of various components and discussions of How To Improve.

And no, he did not come out as "Totally" gay until after he was married.

Sounds a wonderful time, shame about the old fogey ending!

"I love cats, too, but cat-hair is even lighter than dog-hair and more likely to fly around and get in everything!"

As any cat-servant will tell you, cat hair is a condiment.

I love having a geek for a nephew ... wish he was really related to me instead of the stoner I've ended up with. *sigh*

And the cat hairs ... yesssss ... I didn't dare dig through the meal in search of one, but was forcefully reminded of that Garfield comic strip: "Somewhere in that meal is a cat hair with your name on it."
