it's all very well having FM Schumacher saying we should work to live and not live to work but there are times that feels impossible.
so the question becomes - whats keeping you where you are? what practical issues are preventing you from working elsewhere for more pay and what can you do about them? not trying to sound heartless - just trying to help you find the kickoff point.
I forgot to add to my post about how I've been applying like crazy to every job I'm remotely qualified for back in Jersey (where I moved from in 2005 to go to school down here). I've got friends and my sister back up north waiting for me :) But I can't move until I get a new job, and there aren't all that many out there it seems. I really am trying to fix this situation, but in the meantime I'm kinda stuck riding this out. It's just reaching this point where I don't know how much longer I can take this...but it'll work out. It HAS to!
I've even been too down to work on my fic :( and that's saying something! I should just force myself to...it'll give me something to do and occupy my time so I'm not focused on myself so much. Poor Ianto...he should just run for cover the way I'm feeling right now...lol
hug, again. I kind of know the feeling: husband has been out of work since March. There are moments when "I hate my life" is being held back because I know what it will do to him.
Hang on. It might be a bad few months/bad year - but hang on and try to NOT retreat from the world and hopefully a year from now you'll think "that was shit, thank fuck it's over".
I'm listening. It seems like things are really hard right now and you're depressed, which is quite understandable. I hope you realize that all of these things will change, some soon, some later. But they will change, as will you.
I know what it's like to feel isolated and lonely. Thank goodness for the internet - it was a full two years before I made any RL friends in my new town.
