When are you leaving again? I will get a write up done soon. Definitely check out the Hops and Barley Microbrewery though-- they were so nice and the beer was fantastic! I think it was new? Maybe you've been already though.
I was completely dazzled by the Ishtar Gate-- I mean, words can't express the majesty! I missed Nefertiti though-- the queue was much too long. Poor planning on my part! xoxo
I've not been to Hops and Barley yet, its not too far from where we're staying either, so i guess i should check that out! :-)
I've not made it to see Nefertiti yet, my trips to Berlin have co-incided with refurbishment works however don't really fancy queuing unless we're really unlucky with the weather (was the queue for the museum itself or just for the Egypt section within?)
The large queue was for timed tickets to see the Egypt section I believe. I didn't go into the museum to check the other queue because I had already purchased the museum pass and entry would have been another 9 euro-- maybe I am too cheap! But there was so much to see that the museum pass covered-- it seemed a waste of time to have to queue & pay again.

Glad you got to see the Ishtar Gate at the Pergamon Museum. It was all covered over for restoration when I took Rob there, so he never got to see it.
