Still without internet access, so this will be quick. I have been channeling my inner Amy Winehouse, or, going back to my backcombed deathrock roots by wearing a modified, feral beehive, like I used to do circa 1989 when I lived in SF. I love those spiders! I was miffed when they removed that massive one from the Tate Modern. That was a shame! It should have stayed!!!

I'm not sure exactly but I've heard tales of them turning up all over the world. There was one near the glass apple store in America for a while. I'm not sure if it's still there. It has a bit of a "war of the worlds" feel to it, considering the shape of the spiders and them appearing all over :)

I'm pretty useless because of the lack of internet access-- but if you have a list of numbers you want me to call, let me know.

Do you think the Whitby LJ list would be of any help? Maybe you already thought of that-- In fact I'm sure you did.

oh my hell the fungi feast sounds amazing! i hope you snag enough internet to give a full report. and i'm tentatively planning to get back to london next summer, maybe we will have to make a return visit to the gate...

I'm going to be coming up to London in a week or so- be there on the 16th- it's a school trip but we're headed for the Tate and the White Cube, i'm hoping I can wander about by myself a bit- will let you know more details soon.
