Don't wish it. Do it! I know, I know, easier said than done. Although I'd wished to learn the violin when I was a kid, I never did ask my folks for lessons. But I made up for it when I was an adult. Still, it didn't last long. At least I tried.
I attempted guitar when I was a teenager, unfortunately my talents were not in music. :) I know you're right, though. I suppose we make many excuses to not try something different, or just feel intimidated.
