I came here looking hopefully for Ch 19 (since I found your fic two days ago, and have now read it all, you can tell why; I'll post comments with it when I write them, but I LOVE it and you sure left us hanging!) But I have, and always have had, beloved animal friends, so I just had to tell you I'm glad that the news about Gracie was good news. It's especially hard when we hurt them ourselves. I ache even authorizing shots, and once saw my best dog ever killed by a car because I'd been lazy about putting him on a leash. My sympathy is with you(not to mention sympathizing about the financial strain!).
