See, I'm pretty sure we're going to get some Willow-circa-s6 of BtVS up in here in regards to Jinksy. Meaning, I think she'll manage to bring him back and that'll probably parallel the Buffy-in-s6 story arc. Still tremendously sucky, but I didn't see it as a Bury Your Gays plan. He was important to Claudia and it was her turn to go dark and lose her blood innocence and they decided to kill off her brother figure to do that; it's the second time she's lost a brother and we all know what she did to get the first one back. Anything and everything.
Just because they stuffed him in a fridge doesn't make this any less Bury Your Gays -- remember, TPTB didn't have to make a character they knew they were going to kill off gay, they did it deliberately. Why? Well, this way they could claim a pass for including a gay character while not having to put up with him long-term.
Hmmm. I always thought they made him gay to stop him from being shipped with Claudia, to emphasize the point that he was not a romantic interest, but definitely family, paralleling how Pete & Myka currently are. Not just for the sake of him being gay.
Tara's been considered a Bury Your Gays? Oh, that makes me sad.
Oh, she was. In a slightly terrifying sort of way. I'm all for revenge, but I didn't really want her to lose her blood innocence so soon. She's only my age, after all.
They better. Actually, they have to, if they're going to use it, plot-wise.

I'm sure Claudia'll bring him back, just as I'm sure he'll then stop the metronome himself after an oh-so-tearful goodbye. And it's been argued (successfully, IMHO) that regardless of whatever dramatically necessary reasons were claimed for Tara's death it was still Bury Your Gays.

I agree. I wish we knew more about the watch, though, as an artifact.
