“I’m scared…” His voice was barely a whisper. There was a shift next to him, and he felt his lover’s arm around him, bringing him closer.

“What scares you, baby?” Aoi’s voice was soft. It always was when he talked to Uruha.

“Happiness…” Uruha’s answer startled Aoi for a second. The dark-haired man frowned in the dimmed room. He slightly tightened his embrace.

“Why would you be afraid of happiness…?” Aoi asked, kissing his lover’s cheek. It was slightly wet. He brushed his thumb against it, and felt another tear running across his finger. His frown softened, leaving concern in its place.

“Because it never lasts… And I don’t want it to end…” Uruha’s voice was weak. He clutched Aoi’s night shirt tightly, as if afraid he would go away. The older man didn’t really know what to do, so he pulled him closer, until the blond was lying on top of him. Immediately, Uruha’s hands went around Aoi’s neck, hugging him tightly. And then it hit him. Aoi understood why Uruha was acting this way.

“Baby, I’m not gonna leave you… How could I?” One of Aoi’s hands gently cradled Uruha’s head while the other went under the blond’s shirt, softly caressing his back reassuringly.

“You wouldn’t be the first to leave me… It always starts like that… Until they are tired of me… Until they had what they wanted from me…” A sob. Aoi’s heart ached. Uruha’s past was made of deception, of lies, the blond always being on the receiving end. He had been used, hurt, until he was afraid of falling in love. Until he thought he couldn’t be truly loved. But Aoi came into his life. It was hard at first, and the older had worked hard to obtain Uruha’s trust. But he succeeded, seeing how intimate their current embrace was. It seems like the blond was still missing some self confidence. More tears began to run along Aoi’s neck.

“Uruha, look at me,” Aoi said softly. No answer. More tears. “Please, look at me…” This time, the blond complied. The sight almost broke Aoi’s heart. He gently wiped Uruha’s tears.

“I’m not like those men… I don’t want anything from you. I’m not with you to gain something or to show you around. I’m not with you just because of what you look like. I’m not with you because of your body…” He paused to gently peck his lover’s lips; a feather-like touch. “I’m with you because I want to. I love your smile, I love the way you laugh, I love your lips…” Another kiss. “I love your eyes, I love to see them sparkle with amusement or excitement, I love to see how you look at me… God, even when you cry, you’re still as beautiful as ever…” A small smile timidly found its way at the corner of Uruha’s lips. “I breathe for you, I live for you… My whole being belongs to you. I’m yours and I always will be…” Another pause. They silently stared at each other for a moment, searching for something in each other’s eyes.

“I love you, Uruha. I truly love you. Words aren’t powerful enough to say how much I love you…” And Uruha cried once again, burying his head in the crook of Aoi’s neck, clinging to him like he was his only way to survive. Aoi tightened his hold on the other man and continued to stroke his back soothingly.

“I love you, Aoi… You know that, right? I love you, I love you… God, I love you…” His words were muffled by Aoi’s neck and slightly distorted by his sobs, but Aoi understood.

“I know honey, I know…” He whispered, a relieved smile finding his way on his features. Suddenly, a timid laughter rang out in the room. Uruha’s.

“I’m soaking your shirt…” Uruha said, managing to talk through his sobs, now staring at him.

“It’s okay baby, it’s okay.” Aoi replied with a soothing voice and a genuine smile. He once more reached to stroke the younger’s cheek with his thumb, gazing lovingly into those deep honey-brown eyes. Uruha smiled. Aoi couldn’t help but kiss him gently, softly, lips brushing against each other almost innocently. When they pulled back, Uruha’s smile was still there.

Slowly, the blond shifted so that his head was lying on Aoi’s chest, his body no longer atop of the other’s but still close, one of his slender legs between Aoi’s ones, one arm wrapped around the dark-haired man’s waist. Uruha sighed contentedly. Aoi stroked the younger’s blond hair, waiting for his breath to slow down. Once he was asleep, Aoi allowed himself to close his eyes and try to sleep.

He could never leave him. Even if he tried, he couldn’t. The man was now a part of his life, a part of himself. He would stay with Uruha until the day he was told to leave. But they were both aware that this day would never come. Never…

A/N: Call it sappy, fluffy, whatever you want... But I like it (well, I think my ending sucks... u_u but I couldn't think of something better... )
