Blackout/All Clear (by Connie Willis) last night, after lmao feverishly reading for a couple of nights straight (oh god so much lost sleep). I loved it so much. Like everything about it. Aaaaaaah thank you

The only complaint I would probably make, if I was being completely objective, is that it's a bit ramble-y but I REALLY love authors I enjoy going on and on so it wasn't a problem for me. Actually more of a plus. ♥♥♥
Yeah, occasionally the narrative arc got lost in some of the history, but then again the characters had very little control over their own destinies so of course it would. Also all of the 'historical fiction' aspect of it, and the Blitz as a lived historical event, was really fascinating to me so I didn't really notice any rambling. And also audiobooks with good VA's always make rambling pretty tolerable.
(Really my pet peeve is the "boiled leather" phenomenon, where every instance of a word is replaced by a pretense-phrase that increases word count.)
