I watched Broken Blade over the last two days (six short movies) and oh my god I don't know if it's because I haven't seen a mecha series in a while but it was really really great. The ending was a bit too open-ended for my tastes but it works alright. The animation was gorgeous though especially the mech fights (which are really the highlight of ( Read more... )

I was really disappointed in this episode's lack of Akane. And the brains-in-vats (you called it!) were also pretty much a letdown. I guess I can see how people might be upset if they learned Sybil was just human brains....but at another level it seems to me that 200 linked brains could easily represent a consciousness beyond human. OTOH Sybil has to be pretty stupid if it thought Makishima was going to join up voluntarily. And having no security on him wtf.

Also that is so not cool, her blaming Gino for Kagari's "disappearance." ugh. T-T

...I do like how they give Makishima the role traditionally given to the hero. It creates lovely cognitive dissonance.

And lmao awwww this was rather sweet (ignoring most of the circumstances). ♥

T-T... actually yes.

Gehgeugheh I wish I hadn't called it because I was just spitting out the cheesiest sci-fi things I could think of. XD Brains in tanks honestly scare me though. The idea of being alive as just a brain freaks me the fuck out. :(

I don't know who made the final decision about Makshima, but I guess if Touma was in charge of that I could see it? And maybe see him really underestimating how dangerous Makshima would be to him too (hence no guards) since I assume they had a "friendship" similar to the one that the cyborg hunter guy had and that guy never really seemed to notice the danger he was in around Makshima, to me. Idk. I guess Touma never really understood Makshima properly and just assumed that they were a lot more alike than ( ... )
