Broken Blade over the last two days (six short movies) and oh my god I don't know if it's because I haven't seen a mecha series in a while but it was really really great. ...I do like how they give Makishima the role traditionally given to the hero. It creates lovely cognitive dissonance.

Gehgeugheh I wish I hadn't called it because I was just spitting out the cheesiest sci-fi things I could think of. XD Brains in tanks honestly scare me though. The idea of being alive as just a brain freaks me the fuck out. :(

I don't know who made the final decision about Makshima, but I guess if Touma was in charge of that I could see it? And maybe see him really underestimating how dangerous Makshima would be to him too (hence no guards) since I assume they had a "friendship" similar to the one that the cyborg hunter guy had and that guy never really seemed to notice the danger he was in around Makshima, to me. Idk. I guess Touma never really understood Makshima properly and just assumed that they were a lot more alike than ( ... )
