FedCon XIX: Photo session report (and a manip!)

May 12, 2010 00:14

The program for Saturday included the photo session with Joe, the one with both Joe and David and Joe's single panel. Specifically, the schedule for these were like this:

18:30 - 19:00 photo session Joe Flanigan
19:00 - 20:00 photo session Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett
20:00 - 20:45 Joe Flanigan panel

What could possibly go wrong? X(

I'm not sure what the organizers were thinking. )

manips, photos, joe flanigan, david hewlett, fedcon

Thankfully lavvyan sent over berlinghoff79 to rescue me.

You make it sound like I was directing my minions or something. ;)

Yay for smiling David!

OMG, *headdesk* I kept thinking "I didn't get to meet velocitygrass, we must have missed each other" when I was basically not only standing beside you I was actually talking to you. More than once. Why the hell didn't anyone tell me, so I could have fangirled you? *pouts*

Anyway, I thought you looked great on those pics. =)

Love your report.

Thanks for the report and the photos. They're great! I blame the chaos and under preparation of the con organizers for your Joe experience. He's normally fairly peppy, but eek gads, that was a lot of people to deal with and I bet the vibe of the handlers did not help.

>>Of course, with about a billion people wanting a photo with both Joe and David, and the brilliant planning of the con people they only had the choice between sending away fans who wanted a photo or moving Joe's panel around. They chose the latter, which in itself is great because as far as I know everyone who wanted a photo got one (though considering my autograph experience I'm not sure I'd trust that).<<

Nope, they had to do both. Switch the panels *and* exclude all day-ticket holders from *every* photo-session on Saturday. mella68 and I were standing in line when the announcement was made on their screens. We didn't get the photos we wanted. Later that day the organizers claimed it was only a matter of day-ticket holders not being able to take their photo home with same on the same day - not of not being able to have the photo taken - but that's just so much BS - there wouldn't even have been the time to *take* the photos of about 600 additional people who were excluded ( ... )
