Ahh, Doyle...

So Sarah recently borrowed Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 4 and Angel season 1.  And she's going through them like a rabbit reproduces (ha, Anya talk, get it?) on that one freaky credit card commercial.  Seriously.  For her it's an episode from each show per night.

She comes up to me and she says she like Doyle.  I nod, smile, I like him too, and I ( Read more... )

I remember seeing the episode where Doyle died, because he was the heart. Sure, Wes was funny, but he couldn't bring the same heart. I held on, but stopped watching in the middle of season three. My heart really wasn't in it after Doyle died.

Then i found out about Glenn Quinn, and that was a punch to the gut. I never found out what he died of, though. What happened?

Glenn Quinn died from a drug overdose.

But before he died, the writers were planning on bringing him back in either season three or four as the evil big bad. At least from what I read somewhere...probably in a Buffy or Angel magazine, I'm not exactly sure.

Oh, that wouldn't have done at all. Doyle could never have been evil.

Such a shame. I loved the actor on Covington Cross and Roseanne.

well I think you did the right thing in not telling her, I agree with your not wanting to spoil it for her. Half the fun/excitment in watching a show is all the unexpected things, I mean I'm sure the writers knew damn well what they were doing when they planned that, they know certain viewers will see things a certain way, love a character, believe in them etc. then to stir thigns up they do the unexpected, I mean if she KNEW it was coming it wouldn't be interesting.

Good point. Although it's the 'unexpected things' part that make me want to read spoilers for a show :D and it was what made me flip through half of the 6th Harry Potter book to find out who dies.

Still, sometimes a detail or two are left out from spoilers completely on purpose (I think) that when the show does roll around, it's still exciting and fun to watch.
