News on the fanfic front

Feb 06, 2009 12:04

Unlike before Christmas, I haven't made a dramatic, angsty "I'm not writing anymore" post. That means that, even though I haven't been posting, I haven't stopped writing! Yay. But what I'm writing, well, that's a whole other question. I guess I mentioned it somewhere that I've got ideas for more Bioses-stories, and I do, but I'm not writing those. ( Read more... )

writing, torchwood, doctor who, me

I'm resisting the temptation because I don't want the ads. :(

Yeah. I have plus accounts for my rp-people, and the ads really aren't that intrusive.

Understand why you might not want to do anymore of the Bioses series, but I will miss the Iron Man hurt/comfort. If you do another Iron Man/House crossover, or have anymore ideas, please write them. If you aren't going to write the ideas, some summaries of what you were going to do would suffice.

Curious to see what you are going to do with Ten though.

Summary of what I would've done with the Bioses: surprise, surprise, Tony goes after the people who attacked him, and gets in all sorts of trouble while doing that. Nothing new there, would've been basically just more of the same routine.

As for Ten - I'm rather shocked at this myself, but the fic I'm currently working on (around 8000 words done) is actually NOT hurt/comfort. There's some of that, of course, but it's far from being the focus of the story. It's more of a mystery/whodunit-thingy instead. On the other hand, I do have plans for another story that's pretty much pure h/c/angst, so I do believe the good Doctor will get hurt, sooner or later. ;)

Cool, should be interesting. Doctor is harder to write hurt/comfort for because he has already been through so much, including all the regenerations.

You have... scary timing, you know that? I've been a Doctor Who fan for about, uh, 13 years now, but it's a fandom I haven't been able to keep up with, so my interest went a little dormant.

And then, last week, I got my hands on series 1-4... My inner DW fan girl is awake and desperate for some fic. It's quite convenient to find some on my friends page! *grins*

And I'm sorry I never read some of your IM fics, like the Bioses stories. I've had a rough past few months and almost no computer time. I'm racing to catch up.

Wow, some timing, indeed. This is almost scary :D I've got to admit I've never seen the earlier incarnations of DW myself, so I'm a "New Who" girl all the way, until I can maybe some day get my hands on some of the older stuff. (Then again, I've got such a huge crush on the 10th Doctor that I'm not sure I'd want to watch anyone else :P)

About fic, right now I sort-of feel that, nah, well, you haven't missed much if you haven't read the Bioses. But this is just one of my moods about my stories... Also, hmm, have you seen Torchwood, then? Because Future-Perfect-in-Past won't make much sense if you haven't. And Recuperation is a crossover with Recovery, so if you haven't seen that... Although, people HAVE said that it does make some sense even if you haven't. And anyway, I'll be writing more Whofic in the future. <3

I can empathize with not wanting to see other Doctors. I'm used to it; my first Doctor, and one that I'm extremely fond of, was the 8th, and he only had the one movie (plus a lot of novels, but it's not the same.) So I've gotten used to viewing other Doctors if I want more DW. However, I'm NOT going to have fun with 10's upcoming regeneration... I've gotten extremely fond of him; he's definitely a favorite ( ... )

Ooh, I've actually seen the movie, too, in addition to the new series, and 8th Doctor was really adorable. It's such a pity that was his only on-screen appearance. Also, yeah, I really, really don't want Ten to regenerate ever, why does it have to happen?! :( *sob*

I've read some episode descriptions from that wiki and also skimmed through things in wikipedia (as research for fic, mostly...), but it's just not the same as actually seeing them. Too bad youtube only has random clips. (On the other hand, you can find all of Recovery there. But it's not a happy and fun movie. It's more of the sort that I've only watched it once and I doubt I'll be watching it again, not because it wasn't good, but because it was so sad.)
