*also wants to beat Tony for his bad jokes*
"For God's sake, Tony! You come literally back from the dead, and the first person you call out for is your AI?"
Because he so totally would, especially in that situation. <3
Well played, I like this lots. :)

Glad you liked. :) I still feel sort of embarrassed for writing this, since this sort of stuff is just so totally traditional and unoriginal and done to death (no pun intended...) and all that, but I really enjoyed writing it anyway. :D

And, hey, no need to feel embarrassed over something that's shamelessly self-indulgent. I do it myself, and it's some of my best writing, because it comes from the heart. Can't go wrong when you do that. :)

The thing is, I feel it's sort of hard to have "real" tension in this sort of stuff when it's kind of obvious that the hero's going to make it anyway, because if he wouldn't, that'd be deathfic, which is something I really hate. But I guess it's not a problem, since all the angsty angst and desperation is fun nevertheless.

Perfect fluff that wasn't too sappy, coming right after the angst.
Pepper happy, crying and angry at the same time was perfect!
I liked the three's interaction as well, the whole co-pilot-wingman thing was very well done.
And Jarvis, oh Jarvis.
Your Jarvis is the best in Fandom, no matter which incarnation.

*blushes* *faints*
Aww, oh dear, that's so very kind of you. :) <3
(Also, I'm convinced that the fact that I used to roleplay an AI, which was totally wonderful, helps me in writing dear Jarvis. Because I can totally relate to what it's like to be an AI. :P Forgot to mention that in the earlier comment-conversation. :)

You were talking above about the lack of tension since you like to have everyone in one piece at the end, but that doesn't bother me. It's like watching a James Bond movie - I know Bond will make it through all right, so the suspense comes from wondering how he'll make it. I actually prefer that kind of tension -- I'm one of those people who is always vaguely aware that the folks she loves could die at any moment, so I like my entertainment to not have that tension.

Yeah, that's the thing for me too, I prefer stories where I know the hero's going to be OK in the end. It's just that, you know, I've written so many stories that follow the same pattern that sometimes I feel silly writing loads and loads of angst and "*ohnoes* OMG Tony please don't die!!!!1" etc etc when everyone already knows he won't. But I still think it's fun, and apparently I'm not the only one, so all's well and life's good and so on. :)

She sat on his metal-covered lap and put her arms around him, and he lay his head on her shoulder, and they clung to each other like two people caught in the middle of a blizzard.
There was something else, but I have to run to school, so I'll have to find it later. But awesome story. Yay!

Ah, that line... I consciously used a lot of temperature/weather-related imagery in the fic (when describing emotions etc) - I was almost afraid I overdid it, but maybe I didn't.
Also, when I posted this, I was sort of wondering whether there are any people in the fandom who are into this sort of fic, but considering the comments this one got, seems there are. :)
