So my grandma was gracious enough to save my 8th grade graduation dress in the museum that is her house. It's been hanging in her closet in the same place for the last 18 years. Tonight I decided to see if it fit. Lo and behold... I am officially the same size as I was when i was 13 years old.

isn't she pretty in pink?...then and now )

Maybe it's the hair,or not having someone standing next to you, but I think you look smaller.

a proper hairdo did take up a lot of room in the 80's ;-)

2littlewings says that you're the person who has the compendium of snappy comebacks to use when people ask (rudely) if you're pregnant. could you hook a sista up?

also: great dress ^_^

* I'm not pregnant...are you?
* The only thing I'm expecting is a new puppy!
* The only thing I'm expecting is to live a full and meaningful life free of the burden and obligation of ungrateful children
* No I'm just a fat non-breeding lesbian
* I have more to offer the world than babies
* Nope just fat

If someone asks when is your baby due, you oculd say
* Oh in about 10 years
* When pigs fly

Usually I just get caught up & frozen in the moment & say simply "no" or vigorously shake my head and then they get all embarassed and try to apologize thereby making it worse.

I'm trying to let go of my investment in others' perception of my body type.

danke shoen.

I eventually hope to just be hppy with myself the way I am, but it's a messy business.

A coworker asked me today 3 times. I think she thought that it was funny. I wanted to tell her to jsut shut the fuck up, but what can you do? I wouldn't ask anyone that question if they looked like they were having quintuplets. You can't really pick a fight with Ignorance and Insensitivity and win.

wow that is really rude. did you say no you aren't pregnant and she still kept harassing you about it? if that is the case, maybe you could say something like "my body is my business and i would appreciate if you would not offer any commentary about it" or "i find your remarks to be offesive and would like for you to stop." if she does not stop, i would talk to your supervisor perhaps ( ... )

I actually think you look gorgeous in that dress.

I actually think it's really a flattering style for someone with my body type. All the gathered parts in front kind of camoflauge my stomach area and make me look more hourglassy than I actually am. I had a few bathing suits like that too in my pre-teen/early teen years. Viva los 80's!
