Wow, that makes me angry! As does the fact that some of these people are so far gone and they don't know it. I had a kid today who was innocently badmouthing a relative of hers because she was repeating what her parents said--her cousin didn't go to church, didn't believe in God, and the kid was like, "She doesn't even know who God is, so she didn't know the right person to marry." She said this about her pregnant, married cousin. And I'm just her Kumon teacher!

Adults are the ones who need to be responsible about these things, and they just don't get it.

Why take responsibility for a child's upbringing when you can just as easily sit back and blame that terrible, terrible liberal media?

Your kid sounds stupid, but I get the distinct impression that she was parroting. So she's impressionable--too bad your job prevents you from taking advantage of that and adding some good ol' cynicism to the mix. "Well, I know God. She says you're a fag."

These things really make me sad. I remember my parents would reward me for beating up the gay kids at school and encouraged me to call them names.
