I talked to Keira after the show. She said that she'd read the original story, and that the WAY they animated it suited the story perfectly (although I wasn't able to weasel the actual.. like, narrative details out of her or anything). I dunno. I felt like I was WITH the story for most of the way, somewhere up until the children outside started singing and the doctor escaped naked onto the trail home and.. yeah, lost. Unless that was just it, but then the whole payoff of the story really evades me. Thoughts

Hm. Well. Actually, I guess that really was it. I thought they'd gotten super surreal with the animated depiction by that point and were doing some abstract version of the story events but, nope, just playing it straight. I'm somewhat taken aback.

Dean was kind of beautiful, wasn't he? XD He was my cartoon crush for a looong time (alternating it up with Phoebus from HoND because, hey, adorkable AND ~manly~) I don't think I'd ever seen a western cartoon hero who was actually cool before XD

I look for Kent/Dean ficlets or drabbles or SOMETHING every couple years or so, but it's never successful. I would try drawing 'em myself (since I can't write), but I think it would make the whole 'slashing them' thing way less interesting to me then T_T

Happy Feet was so dire I almost didn't go see Surf's Up, but now it's one of my favourite animated films ever ;__; Hell, it's probably one of my favourite films ever, period.

Yeah, I watched Happy Feet first and didn't expect much from Surf's Up-- BUT HOT DAMN WAS I BLOWN AWAY. I love the documentary-style story telling, I love the characters, I love everything about it! I need to see it again...

Personally I'd lean towards Lir. You'd make a beautiful Amalthea, but ehhhh she's boring... UNLESS you somehow visually fuse the Unicorn with Amalthea. Without, you know, turning into Princess Unicorn.
