Winter has  come and with it the wonderful ritual (at least since we moved into this apartment) of putting plastic on the windows.  Now, we do love the fact that we live in this neat, old mansion, but there are a couple of irksome problems - the fact that the windows are not insulated being one of them.  When my parents lived in their first house,

So you sort of shrink wrap the windows? That's pretty neat! GOod luck sealing those suckers. And happy 1 year anniversary, it occured to me it has already been that and I thought it earlier but wanted to also say it.

Thank you! If you were in the area you would be welcome to stop by for some cake - we still have quite a bit and I don't think it tastes that bad for having been in the freezer for a year. ;)

i should have come by for freezer cake, and josh and la action indeed. maybe you can hold it over for the second anniversary?

I tried that one year and gave up after one window. We actually got thermal curtains for the bedroom thsi time. Next year I need to build some storm windows.

We have heavy curtains in our bedroom, but we didn't have enough for each room and in fact the windows in our spare room don't close all the way, hence the *thumping*.
