selected poetry & year wrap

I went to the library yesterday and borrowed a couple of books.. my favourite would be Phantasmagoria, a poem by Lewis Carrol. Here are a few "stanzas" (I've always disliked that word) that amuse me:
[oh the poem is basically about some guy who comes home and there's a ghost in his house]

My sympathies were warming fast
Towards the little fellow.

OHh well it's pretty good fun. You know, with all the kangaroos just jumping around in the house and stuff.

I used to really believe that when I was 5, I was kind of bummed when I found out it wasen't true.

Well if you live on farms and stuff you regularly see kangaroos. When I was littler and lived on my farm we had kangaroos in the backyard all the time early in the morning. Though it's kinda scary if you're driving along some road and then you see a kangaroo in front of you. My mum accidentally hit one when we were driving to Ballarat a while ago. It was alarming and sad. : (
