Also, you don't really need a spoon for this soup. You could just put it in a mug and sip it.

Have you tried or heard of Garden of Life Raw Meal? There is a Vanilla Chai flavor that is awesome and replaces a full meal. I add it to green juice or alternative milks like rice or almond. Just a thought to get your nutrition during this tough time. Good luck!

Cream of Kohlrabi with Turnip and Celeraic.

I made this just the other day and had some for lunch just now.

Chop onions, kohlrabi, turnips, and celeriac into half-inch dice. Other root veggies can also be used.
Saute with butter and/or olive oil until softened.
Add broth/water and milk/cream/sour cream/etc and simmer until veg is cooked.
Season with salt, pepper, parsley, garlic, and smoked paprika.

You can either cook the veggies down to mush, or put it through the blender. Either way is good.

I feel your pain- I have to get a root canal done in the next couple of weeks (having to arrange it around work and uni) so I'll be in the same situation.

My brother actually put his burritos in the blender when he had his wisdom teeth out.

Butternut squash soup.
1 butternut squash
2 large carrots
2 sweet potatoes/yams
1 large onion
garlic cloves, crushed, optional
salt, pepper and sugar to taste

roast squash and yams in oven.
peel & saute onions and carrots (and garlic) until soft.
remove peel and seeds from squash and yam
puree everything with an immersion blender. Add water to desired thickness and blend again. Add spices.
