Wouldn't the mix replace your milk? I'm assuming its a liquid. I can't remember the simple baking powder egg replacement... its just a bit of baking powder and vinegar. I make vegan cake from scratch. I use water or coffee to replace the milk. And just baking powder and vinegar instead of eggs. Its really easy.

I'd look up a pop cake recipe (cake mix and Sprite, that sort of thing), and use the drink instead. Use a bit of drink mix and rum as the liquid in a coconut oil buttercream.

This page lists a ton baking swaps to make it vegan: http://www.theppk.com/vegan-baking-the-post-punk-kitchen-shows-you-how/ read through the whole thing though to figure out which would work best for what you're making.

Could you use coconut milk and more flour?

The above ideas are good. I have another idea: use puréed strawberries as the liquid in your cake mix and bake according to the directions, then make holes in the finished cake with a toothpick and soak it with a small amount of the drink itself, applying gradually a spoonful at a time and being careful not to make it too boozy.

I like this idea. I've tried making fake strawberry flavoured things before and it just wasn't that great. I remember that I ended up boosting the strawberry flavour with strawberry puree.
