Just recently I have been wanting to get very serious about incorporating a full vegetarian lifestyle into my diet. I want to try the ovo lacto vegetarian diet first and see how I do with that. I've done a lot of research. However, I have a few ( Read more... )

I've never been able to find a marshmallow substitute, but I've never been to a specifically vegan store to look. I just roast pieces of fruit instead. Pineapple is really nice.

There are indeed vegan marshmallow, I think Whole Foods carries them here in the states. They are quite tasty. When I cook for meaty people I often make a big pot of chili, the hearty flavors and spices often distracts folks from the small detail that it's all beans and veg. Throw in some TVP if you want even more meatiness. Mexican food is good for the same reason. Leftovers make good packed lunches, then, too.

I use marshmallow fluff! You can find it in the baking aisle of grocery stores. Tasty and gelatin-free (check the labels to make sure of that, of course ( ... )

You can get vegetarian and vegan marshmallows! A while back Julian Graves in the UK sold vegetarian ones but not vegan, and I think Holland + Barratt may have too. You usually have to pay more but you can get them from health food shops quite often?

Again for vitamins, Julian Graves are amazing; they do vits especially for vegans too. Or you can order straight from the Vegan Society in the UK; of course they know exactly what they're doing. If you're not in the UK try the Internet; you might be able to find some cheaper even with shipping costs. Just make sure it's reputable and they're all sealed!

Look out for some awesome veg*n cookbooks; I love them so much. Mine is to join the shelves as well (but in like a year or two)! =D
