To those who were exposed all my rant/whine/resignation on the logistics involved in going to see the movie, I'm happy to report that the pain was indeed worth it. Joss Whedon is doubtlessly a master at balancing ensemble cast and complex storylines and giving you just exactly the right amount as well as leaving you wanting for more. Very, very

So awesome. Funny and warm and badass, of course, because it's Joss, but I was so frickin' impressed with the overall pacing and the coherence of the action scenes and just how much pathos-laden character stuff and fun ensemble interactions got packed in there. Loved it so, so much. And I'm pretty much on the same 'ship trains as you.

So much word on this. That's very very difficult to pull off, I think, and even the greatest directors can't always get it right, but Joss somehow managed to put everything together without losing pacing or focus. Very very impressive, and I adored everybody. So, so difficult to manage, that. <3
So, are you back home now? The semester must be over?

And, yes, YAY PEPPER. I loved her camaraderie with Coulson and Tony's resulting...I don't know if you'd call it jealousy but whatever it was ("His first name is Agent." "Why does he get to be Phil?") and she makes Tony a better man. That end scene when Tony's just staring and Pepper's not answering made me tear up unexpectedly.
Speaking of unexpected...Ruffalo did a fine job of making me like the Hulk when the last 2 movies about the Hulk did not! I mean, I liked Edward Norton's version but I didn't realize what it was missing until this! The banter between Banner and Stark! Stark shocking him to get a response and science geeking out with him ( ... )

"His first name is Agent" was one of the best lines ever. Along with "...He's adopted." Hee. Aww, Thor. He's such a giant puppy, I can't even.
you just know Loki can't help but love Thor (whichever way you want them to love each other
Exactly! I don't even think I'm full-on shipping them -- I just want Loki to receive much-needed therapies and comes to term with his FEELINGS. Even he can see his brother loves him. He just doesn't want to admit it. Ugh.
Only the first after-credit scene, but I'm good with that. There's always the DVD to look forward to. Yay!

The second after-credits scene is just fluff but it was fun. ;)

I am having waaaay too much fun staring at pictures of Jeremy Renner's ass and upper body. The others weren't too bad either. ;)
I told my mother, my mother who never wants to watch movies, that Joss Whedon was the director and one of the screen-writers...she promptly demanded I add it to her movie queue...so both of our mom's are awesome?

They're THE ship for me, too, actually. I'm not always canon-compliant, but I'm completely behind having one solid relationship that would also happen to be an endgame in a superhero series, and Tony & Pepper are gold together. It never, ever, happens elsewhere, though, so I'm slightly worried about IM3.
That said, RDJ seems to be fully behind Tony & Pepper (just as well he should), so I'm cautiously hopeful.
Dude, I've always had a thing for Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker definitely clinched it), but I've developed an unhealthy obsession with Chris Hemsworth. ::drool::

Oh, right, um, I'm once again totally failing my resolution of trying NOT to write a 10-page analysis paper on Revelations, its depiction of canon characters, and Loki as a dynamic character and a walking tragedy thing.
In conclusion: this is sad and pathetic, but I'm not afraid to admit that I basically live for your updates as of late. ::sheepish::
Addendum: Um, your Balancing was the first Loki/Thor fic I've read and it basically ruined my life, because at this point nothing except your fics will do it for me anymore. ::headdesk:: Figures, because I remember reading ( ... )
