Traveling from NH to Virginia

I'm going to be driving from Southern NH to Washington DC (I'll be there just on the 4th) and then to Hampton, Virginia. I'm going to most likely be on 95 for most of the trip, but since I'm traveling on the 3rd, I might end up taking backroads to avoid traffic. I'll be picking my dad up at the BWI Airport, so suggestions for that area would be ( Read more... )

philly's wonderful for vegan stuff. chinatown is directly off of i-95, but the wholefoods at callowhill is also easy to get to. (if you do go there, to get back to 95, make a left out of the parking lot and then a right on franklin town blvd (right after 18th) and then you can make your left on to vine street and then continue to 95.)

i would recommend govinda's (relatively cheap), but that's too far out of your way, and you'd have to be driving on the more congested streets. (but they do have vegan treats cakes and klein's kosher "ice cream" so if you do go, take 15th street (not broad) and on your way back, take either 16th or 13th (again, not broad) the streets aren't that bad prior to 4 and after 7.

oh. i just remembered, you can take i-76 back to 95. take lombard street and then after it curves, make a right and then make a left on to i-76. that's better than going back up to vine street.

Thank you. :D

Are there any places you'd recommend in Chinatown/Philly? (I'm assuming Chinatown's in Philly.. There's one in Boston but it's the only one I know.)

oh, yes. chinatown is part of philly.

new harmony and kingdom of vegetarians are both very good (owned by the same people), as is singapore. if you go to NH/KOV, try the jumbo walnut shrimp. *mouth waters*
