Hey all, I'm off to NYC for a week and want your advice re: cheap eats, sugary awesomeness, cheap shows, bike rentals, etc...
And any special advice on Chinatown?

I second Buddha Bodai.

There's the Vegetarian Dim Sum house as well.

Lula's Sweet Apothecary is a must, it's fantastic.

The Soy and Sake is by far my favourite place in NYC to eat. http://www.soyandsake.com/ It's run by the same people who run Red Bamboo and it serves vegan sushi. It's reasonably priced, too (considering it's in the West Village ;) )

Enjoy, I'm very jealous that I'm not in NYC myself right now.

Thirding Lula's Sweet Apothecary--it's also close to Tompkin's Square Park, and the weather's been really nice lately, so you can eat yr ice cream in the park:D
