Not very familiar with PETA so I'm curious why you're not a fan of them?

Anybody feel free to answer ;-)

Also PETA has a long history of running some seriously sexist advertisements...which is weird considering how many of my vegan friends are feminists.

They're obnoxious. They're also hypocritical, apparently their shelters euthanize more animals than every other shelter in the US combined.

Do you have a source for that stat? I know peta euthanizes (and I'm not pro-peta), but I find that very hard to believe.

Only you'd be promoting PETA if you used the stickers.

I'm aware of that. But I'd also be educating on the brutality of wearing animal skins, and it would act as a potential conversation starter to bring up animal rights issues with people.

It's the message that sticks with people, not necessarily the brand.

I think I was unclear. It's true that people probably won't remember where the sticker was from. But I think that anyone who can see the problems with PETA should be unwilling to use and promote their campaigns. I think the process by which one promotes animals rights is an important as the results, and PETA is not an acceptable process.

However, my approach is informed by a specific background, and other good, ethical people could come to a different conclusion. So.

i think quite a few people might dismiss such a message based purely on the fact that it has a PETA logo on it. Which is an illogical reason to dismiss something, but PETA's reputation is that bad, it's not surprising.

You can make your own stickers very cheaply, i do! http://www.instructables.com/id/Homemade-Stickers/

Thanks for sharing ^_^ Im not a big fan of PETA either, but hey, I like free and its not like Im giving them money by accepting their free stickers.

Most of the people I know are aware that I dont really support PETA, so having these stickers around will hopefully remind them that animal rights are a big deal, regardless of who's logo is on them.

I'd rather pay for something that supports an animal activism group that does good work. :P

As one who is new to veganism I need to be educated as to what PETA can do with the animals they can't shelter any longer. I just really want to like PETA! They helped me tremendously in transitioning to veganism over the last couple years. I feel they do good outreach and are trying to bring about real social change.
