chemotherapy and white blood cell count

do any of you have experience with supplements or foods that would help keep a chemo patient's white blood cell count up, but not interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment? my mom's WBCs don't seem to be regenerating themselves very well. and this time of year, everyone is sick, so that's a terrible combo. thanks!
