Good news about circus animals in Bolivia

The use of animals (both wild and 'domesticated') has been banned in Bolivia. Now there's some good news to start the weekend with!

'Flores said authorities aim to stop circus operators from killing animals they can no longer use.

"About 50 animals are circulating in national and international circuses at the moment [in Bolivia] and we want to negotiate to make sure that the animals aren't eliminated," she said.'

I really hope they manage to re-home the animals. Really really hope!

Good on Bolivia! The U.S. thinks we're so ahead on everything, yet we constantly get shown up by countries that most U.S. citizens wouldn't be able to find on a map. *sigh*

How nice of Bolivia :)

A few local councils in Australia have decided to ban animal circuses, but nothing at a state or federal level yet. Still, it seems like we may very possibly be the last people to see animals exploited in circuses if things keep going like this. Fingers crossed!
