Pizza Pi, get a pizza with garlic sauce, it's very delicious. You can go to the bus tunnel and take 71, 72, 73 and one of those busses will drop you off right in front of Pizza Pi. I mean, probably not good for a lunch break, but good for dinner or something before you go back to your hotel. The tunnel closes at 7pm but those busses are still running from downtown. Also, arayas in the udist is pretty good. Bamboo Garden on Queen Anne is pretty good too.
Also, in the downtown area there isn't much vegan food to be had, but Cinnamon Works at Pike Place Market has some fantastic vegan baked goods, and if you're missing having donuts, Mighty'O donuts are vegan and they're usually sold at Victrola Cafe which is up the street about 4 blocks from the Convention Center. If you go even further than that cafe, you'll run across Honey Hole and they have some vegan sandwiches.
yeh i realized this when i was only in the downtown area and had a very hard time finding food, i didnt want to venture on my own cos that terrifies me in cities, needless to say im very glad to be home where i can cook, i really did not eat much at all in seattle and my body was pretty pissed for it, i did get baked good from cinnamon works
Definitely Mighty-O -- but go to the actual place, the donuts that they sell in the other stores and cafes just aren't the same. Cafe Flora is great, also see Hillside Quickie (Capitol Hill location is better IMO but there is also one in the U district). Araya is good vegan thai food also in the U District. Hm, also, what's the name of that vegan bakery that is yummy, Flying something... Apron maybe?
Not sure when, I don't live there, just visit frequently. The U District one was actually closed for remodeling a while last year. My food at the Capitol Hill one was a *lot* better.
The raspberry chai cake I had at Flying Apron was pretty seriously awesome.
