Well, if your taste buds are more important then animals, then don't be vegan.

I love being vegan more than anything and would never go back. Not even to fit in or because I love the taste of animal products.

I'm sorry. :(

Sometimes when I go out to eat, I get frustrated, but then I remember that I can go home and cook a vegan meal 100 times better than the meal they could have given me at the restaurant.

I'm overweight too, and food is like an addiction, but I just got addicted to vegan food! Haha. I love vegan ice cream and cookies and cupcakes.

But, if you don't feel it, stop doing it. I don't really know what else to say. I felt like you do a couple of times when I first became vegan, but I got over it because animals are the most important thing in my life besides my family.

I dunno. I guess you just have to make the decision.

I miss eating ribs. I miss my grandma's chocolate pie. I miss swedish meatballs. There are many foods that aren't vegan or vegetarian that I loved very very much before going vegan. But I just switch them off. I don't know how to explain this. I probably wouldn't be able to do it if I were vegan for health reasons rather than ethical reasons. I have zero will power in everything else!

I've only been vegan for a little while. Not even a year yet. I found that learning how to cook really helped me stick to being vegetarian and then to cutting out milk, cheese, etc. If you can cook super tasty meals then you won't think about the meat.

it's all about the cooking. whenever i crave something i used to love eating, i whip up something so tasty that i forget about the former craving.

if you're just a hopelessly bad cook, try splurging on vegan frozen things now and then. whole foods has a TON of vegan lasagnas and chicken nuggets and soy cheese pizzas that are delicious. same with trader joes.

also try scouting out vegan restaurants in your area. if there aren't any, determine what you can veganize at restaurants that would be really tasty. it takes some practice, but once you've got 4 or 5 restaurants that can cook you tasty tasty vegan food, you'll be very happy; i know i am.

your cravings may not be coming from a dissatisfaction with veganism, but from your body telling you your "diet" isn't right for you. perhaps if you ate the vegan food you know you love, and kick up the exercise a notch to compensate, you'll feel better all over?

Ok, can i ask...what was it that made you go vegan in the first place? I'm also curious as to why you feel that eating meat would benefit you emotionally, since you feel like you're "emotionally depriving" yourself by being vegan. I've not been in your situation, so i don't know how i can help tbh.

yeah, i'm not sure how not contributing to the murder of voiceless animals is depriving oneself. [confused]

I really hope people on here aren't too judgmental because I know this community can be.

I'm in vegan/vegetarian limbo right now. I am a weak person and I know this, but I'm trying so hard.

also, find a community of vegans where you live. Sometimes that's the only way I can stay on track of not going just vegetarian. I couldn't do it alone.

meat isn't appetizing. it's death. get over it. stop being lazy. being vegan IS NOT HARD. it's probably the easiest thing i've ever done for myself.

also, by eating stuff like little debbie cakes and eggs, etc.. you're fucking up your palate. you're starting to crave those foods again.. and by eating meat once or twice, you're further sliding down the hill into wanting to eat everything again.

meat is NOT good for you, and i will argue anyone who tries to disprove that point. being vegan is the best thing you can do for yourself, for the animals, and the environment. if being "normal" (i consider the "norm" to be fat, lazy, convenience-at-any-cost slobs, so maybe i'm biased) is more important to you than the 3 aforementioned (your body, the animals, the earth) you're just a visitor to the vegan realm, and inevitably don't belong here ( ... )

Thank you. I have alot of food issues. I think I need to face those. I have been eating non-vegan sweets everyday for a while [i'm fat btw], and just quit yesterday.

I just need to think about the time i went to the middle tennessee state university pig farm: how bad it smelled, how cramped the pigs were, the look in their eyes.

I need to hook up with some more local vegans too.
