Vegan Restaurants Near London Heathrow Airport

I have a 13 hour layover at LHR tomorrow, and I'd love to see a little bit of London. Could anyone recommend a place to get some vegan eats near LHR or close to an Underground station? Is there a place that I would just be crazy to miss?

YES! If you go to the tube at the airport you'll be on the Picadilly line, take it north north north to Covent Garden station. When you come out of the Station you'll see Marks & Spencers on the left, walk to the right of it (there's construction going on, just to warn you but its not too bad) keep walking down that street and on the left there's a restaurant called Food For Thought- its right across from Mac makeup and a store called Freddie. Make sure that you get one of the vegan scones- AMAZING. they usually have a vegan soup, plus another vegan option and stirfry veggies and brown rice. Everything is made from scratch that day- really the best vegan food i've found in London so far. Have fun on your layover! Where are you headed?

oh! And the fruit crumble is the best food that i've ever eaten. i make it at home regularly (they have a huge and amazing cookbook for only 10 pounds! )

Catch the underground to Tottenham Court Road station in central London. From there you can walk in 10mins or less to Vitaorganic (vegan organic cafe with nice cake and a good raw selection), Beatroot (mostly vegan), Mildred's (vegetarian, but has a very good rep- a bit pricey though), Sagar (indian), Moaz (falafel), Red Veg (burgers) and Neil's Yard Salad Bar (to die for chocolate coconut cake).

its too bad you're not coming on sunday, i'm having a "thanksgiving" vegan feast! i hope you enjoy your day in London :)
