Hiya. I used to look after a vegetarian dog, and its diet would be easy to convert to vegan. The only non-vegan things it had were the odd egg and sometimes a bit of cheese ( ... )

garlic and all members of the allium family can be toxic to dogs/ cats.

Some ideas.

Vegedog - have to buy powder, but can make your own kibble from it/mix in with whole foods.

Just FYI dogs can go through major gastrointestinal upset switching diets - just like people going vegan can!

You need to ask yourself if 10 days of a vegan diet is worth having to clean up projectile diarrhea especially if the dog will most likely get constipated once the owner returns and puts it back on meat-based food.

i agree too. 10 days is just too short a period to expect that conversion, and after 10 days he will have to be switched back. i dont think its fair to the dog. if you were watching him for a few months, that might be diffent.

garlic in small amounts is fine for dogs, it helps with fleas
but onions, raw, shouldnt be fed to dogs
my dog is all vegan all the time
but i highly recommend that you dont change the dogs diet, because it will mess with their heads and their bodies....if it were going to be a lifelong change that would be different
you need to ease animals into a change in diet
i personally would never feed penney crap from a bag, maybe you can talk about the people, and if you want i could give you some recipe ideas if they wanted to start coooking for their pups

It's not good to change a dog's diet so quickly and immediately like that. You could save yourself some money, save the dogs the upset stomachs, and just feed the dogs their normal food. I'm assuming the owner will give you their food and not make you buy it for them.
