I'm really curious, as I don't know a whole lot about PETA...

Why do alot of people in this group seem not to like PETA?

Just curious :) Any insights would be great!

In my opinion they are hypocrites.
Watch Penn and Teller's episode of Bullshit! about Peta, it's crazy!

You are right! Ted Nugent is the voice of reason! you idiot. Hate PETA all you want, but Penn & Teller? Really? Don't make yourself look like a fool.

Yes really. Name calling was so necessary.

I find them hypocritical and a detriment to the cause. They give a decent group of people the title of being "batshit insane" by some of the things they say and by their actions.

They Peta Kids website also pisses me off for many reasons - mostly the extreme propaganda that feeds on grossing people out, not educating them. Sorry, when looking up a definition of stearic acid, I want to read plain science without a side of opinion (from the site: it may sound less gross than "lard," but stearic acid, which often rears its ugly head in chocolate and vitamins, comes from a fatty substance taken from slaughtered pigs’ stomachs-or from cows, sheep, or dogs and cats euthanized in animal shelters. Still want to chew on that piece of Fido?")

They're kind of like second-generation punk rock.

They have the heart and the soul, but express opinions in an unintelligible and offensive way. It ends up being about nihilism and shock value rather than the actual message. Also, when you look deeper look find that nihilism leads to apathy which becomes hypocracy.

But I like some of their one-sided propaganda because it's funny and blatent.

i don't have a problem with peta. to the people who do, i ask, "what are you doing for the cause?"

at least they're out there trying.

maybe if people don't like their methods, they should focus on implementing their own instead of complaining.

we'll never get anywhere fighting amongst ourselves.

Agreed, but I totally say Peta needs some advice to say the least.
