They are pretty good. I went there not too long ago. I remember they had vegan ice cream for dessert, but not what I had for dinner. My daughter had a terrific almond butter and raspberry jam sandwick with sliced banana.

I usually mostly frequent chains in Long Beach, because there isn't much info online about the local places, and I don't live there, I go to visit family. (Romano's Macaroni Grill, Baja Fresh, Pick Up Stix, Chipotle, Souplantation). The Whole Foods by the marina (Near 2nd Street on Pacific Coast Highway) has vegan pizza sometimes, and there's a farmer's market that is just fantastic there on Sunday mornings. Also a TJ's within walking distance of the same park point.

I do know that Katella Deli (on, surprise, Katella) has awesome baked potatoes with steamed veggies that a little BYO tofutti sour cream makes into a delicious dinner. My family loves that restaurant, but they are not very vegan friendly at all. Great for L-O veggies (sigh).

I went there last month! I got a grilled tempeh sandwich...my first time trying tempeh and it was delicious. Really cool atmosphere. I'd go back.

We also wanted to go to a place called Good Mood Food cafe in Huntington Beach, but it took us too long to find it, and by the time we got there it was closed. The menu sounded amazing though.

my favorite favorite vegan restaurant is in the area. its called vegi-wokery. it's in a nearby city called cerritos, only about 5-10 minutes away. anyway, it's vegan chinese. if you go, please order the drumsticks and orange chicken and think of me being really jealous.

heads up: cash only.

hey! i live in the phoenix area too. is that place kind of like vegetarian house? sounds good! once i figure out how the public transportation system works down there i'll have to hop a bus, or whatever, to cerritos and eat those things and make you jealous :)

it is similar to vegetarian house but, in my opinion, WAY better. There are some hit and miss items, but I would try:

drumsticks
orange chicken
sweet and sour pork
dim sum shu mai
sesame chicken

oh man! the "meaty" balls they use for orange chicken and sweet and sour are so cripsy and great!

and the bus system there is way better than in phoenix, and shouldn't be a problem. when i was in high school, we used to take a bus down to the beach all the time. have fun!
