A man has died and at least nine other people have been injured during the first day of the annual bull-running festival in Pamplona, northern Spain.Police said that the 23-year-old man, from Ireland, died when he fell from a wall during celebrations on Sunday

that doesn't seem like nearly enough. i mean, you'd think if they've been doing it for that long, more people would have died. bulls are freakin huge.

you know, you'd be surprised. i heard "13" quoted when i was in Spain around the time of the bull run a few years ago. when you have a freakin huge bull running at you you haul ass, i guess. they likened it to average people lifting cars off of people run over and stuff.

I agree. I am surprised that even more people have not been hurt. I wonder what the stats are for how many bulls have been hurt. The whole thing is just fucking stupid.

You shouldn't be wondering how many bulls have been hurt- the correct statistic would be how many bulls have been killed. It's such a barbaric festival. Anyone who dies running with the bulls is getting nothing more than they deserve.

Oh, I agree. I just wonder how many injuries that the bulls receive are overlooked, whereas people get treatment from the Red Cross. I know that ultimately the bulls die in the ring.

I'm almost always overjoyed when I see people being hurt by animals that they are either trying to hurt, or for being complete idiots. I know that might not be the nicest thing, but it's true.
