I just ran across a write-up of a new TV show to premiere on ABC this fall. It's by Beavis and Butthead creator Mike Judge.

The Goode Family - Set to premiere in November on ABC, this new Mike Judge creation centers on an obsessively "green" family who live an over-the-top politically correct lifestyle. Vegan eating, hybrid-driving, and recycling ( Read more... )

That is not what I thought your reaction would be. :D I agree with you though. Mike Judge is a smart guy (don't let B&B fool you). I would almost be willing to bet that he's supportive of the ideals and this is a way to subversively push his 'agenda'. At least I hope so. Don't disappoint me Mike!

Yea, that's kind of what I'm hoping for. I like to keep an open mind until I actually see the finished project. But I'm expecting just the idea may turn some vegans off.

Thanks! I made it myself. Well, using Farm Sanctuary's cute logo of course, so mostly the cuteness can be attributed to them. :)

That's understandable. I have a vegan friend that has no interest what so ever in how cars effect the environment. While I, a minor meat eater, try my best to recycle, carpool, ect. We find both of our situations rather ironic.

If SP hasn't offended you however, then I'm pretty sure this wont in the long run.

I agree.

WARNING!!! GENERALIZED STATEMENTS AHEAD!!!

On sitcoms, many times the youth tend to be the ones pointing out the hypocrisy and ludicrous nature of their parents in a "emperor's new clothes" sort of way. I feel that the children rejecting and questioning their parents agenda seems like it will be another "parents are squares and out of touch" kind of deal.

Mike judge has seemed to become more conservative as he ages. king of the hill used to be moderate to conservative and now it's far to the right. In a recent episode they basically blamed 'rich' artists on gentrification.

You're joking right? I always figured that show to be extremely sarcastic.

I don't know. at first definately it poked at both sides. But just in my opinion lately it seems to blame liberal types in the storytelling not just from the characters point of view. But yes definately in the beginning it was pretty sarecastic and fun. but hey, mabye this show will be funny, like he just needed to do a new show or something.
