It would be interesting! However, I think the control group should be something that anyone can aspire to.... which might be the American Heart Association's guidelines... : /

THERE is a weight loss study going on at Bastyr (the college with a vegetarian cafeteria) right now... and it sounded like a vegan diet with a large emphasis on beans as the main protein source (as opposed to meat). Someone I work with is doing it and she has lost a lot of weight so far.

eat a fish at least twice a week??? eep!

I agree they should have included vegetarians and vegans in the study, but were probably trying to marginalize their results... *sigh*

They probably mean, "Get plenty of omega-3 fatty acids", which always seems to get rendered as, "Eat lots of fish".
