Right. I've generally seen cayenne pepper spray advertised in gardening catalogues, but I think sprinkling actual cayenne would work, too. It would be rather important to remember to put more on after it rains and whatnot.
We used to use cayenne pepper to keep squirrels off. It seemed to work-- you can just sprinkle the powder around your plants and their soil, and then when animals come munching on the cayenne covered leaves, they go "whoa, that's hot!" and stop (unless they really like spicey food....). It is also completely human-safe, since it washes off. -Rek
have you seen those synthetic pees? if you put the "pee" of a larger animal, (try fox) they'll stay out. i'm not sure what's in them though, this organic green house i used to work at in high school sold them, but that doesn't mean they were vegan.
my 78 year old grandmother is having a woodchuck problem (he eats her green beans!) she's trying to take care of it the same way you are, just scaring it away, i'll ask her for an update to see if anything worked.
The garlic helps with Vampires, and vamps and bunnies both have the big teeth thing going, so there might be a connection.
Sorry. No, I don't have anything actually helpful. I just couldn't resist.
Oh wait! A mountain lion would be perfect! But your neighbors might get uppity about her. Hmm. No, that's probably not very helpful to you, either. But the cougar would at least leave your veggies alone.
it sounds weird, but human and/or animal hair is supposed to work well, so if you have access to a dog that sheds or visit a hair salon, you could probably acquire enough to toss around your garden and keep bunnies away.
