It was just a joke! Its us laughing at ourselves. I told this joke to my Dad who is a carnivore because I knew he'd think it was funny. It wasn't making us look stupid, only showing that we can laugh at ourselves. Everyone knows we are not tempted with steak, so just laugh and let it go. :-)

Sadly, I don't think everyone does know this. Those who know me closely do know I've not eaten steak for 15 years or so, but I still meet people who can't believe I manage to survive (or indeed, be somewhat podgy) on plant matter alone.
