Yeah, so you are going to see a lot of me on here for awhile :-P  The last time I tried being vegan I didn't have a forum of people to talk to, but now that I do I plan on taking advantage of you guys/gals any chance I get! do you have health insurance? after about 6 months of veganism, i decided to go to a dietitian, mostly to re-assure my mom that i was doing it right.

right now i eat well and i take a vegan multi, a calcium supplement, and a vegan DHA (omega 3s) supplement.

Its possible you could be anemic which wouldn't have much to do with being vegan. Maybe you could get blood tests done? I know you said you don't think thats it but it kinda sounds like it if you say you looked pale and washed out.

Actually -- I think its because the rest of my family is full Italian (darker skin) and my Dad is Irish. My sister got the pink skin and freckles, but I got the dark hair and pale skin with an olive tone -- so, to them I'm pale but I just think its part of my Dads genetics. It looks fine on my sister because she got the pink coloration, but it can look washed out on me because of the yellow. Thats my theory anyway. That and I wear spf 30 everyday. :-P

The Vegan Society's nutrition pages - a superb resource; also consider getting a copy of Stephen Walsh's Plant Based Nutrition and Health either from the VS or through the US-based Vegan Outreach, who also have really great vegan nutrition pages
The Vegan Food Pyramid
The Vegetarian Resource Group's vegan nutrition pages

I'll tag your post for you so you can also look up other people's posts on the same or similar topics.
